It is simple - show up for the interviews you schedule.

We generally have about a 10% no-show (or ghosting) rate with our scheduled candidate interviews. That means that some of you reading this won't even cancel or decline a scheduled interview. Once you do that, you go on our, "do not call list" and you have burned a bridge with all 60 of the clients we work with. It's rude, and disrespectful, and will have a negative impact.

Take the time to be a professional and cancel your interview if you are no longer interested. Be honest and straightforward.

Be Respectful + Show Up

No Ghosting

Build Bridges - Don't Burn Them

Cancel the interviews you are not going to attend. You can send an email in the middle of the night, send a text, or leave a voice mail to cancel. Don't risk your reputation on something as silly as ghosting.

You will hear comments like, "The design community is very small". The truth is, every community, in every field, in every city, is small. If you work in commercial design in New York City - even NYC is small.

POWER TIP: Your career will be built on relationships so handle them with care.

Do you always show up?
